I agree, there’s surely a case for X PRIZE attention in this area too.

I had the same thoughts myself, on viewing the TED talk by Bill Gates, shortly after writing my blog post.

However, I don’t see any mention of technologies that might help us avoid the environmental catastrophe we are drifting towards – surely this is a more pressing issue, and one which an X prize might really make a contribution towards solving.
